Have You Ever Lied? With Seemly No Way Out
Have you ever lied, and wanted to tell the truth but couldn’t. Before you knew it, you told that person another lie on top of the one you already told. Truth of the matter is, you are not normally that type of person. But found yourself in a situation where you couldn’t find a way out. So you chose the road most traveled.
Let’s face it we have all lied one time or another, but as you come into the knowledge and power of Jesus Christ. You make a conscious afford to do what is good and wholesome. But most of all, you want to please God, by being more like Christ.
You simply ask God for His forgiveness. Others have said, of course you must make it right with the person you committed the sin with or to. So swallow that big old lump in your throat and go for it. REPENT! Although it will be hard, you will feel better in the long run. Most of all God will be please. That’s our ultimate goal. To be pleasing in God’s sight, and to one day hear Him say, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
The world’s definition of forgiveness is remarkably different from that which the Bible describes. If you were to ask someone off the street what forgiveness meant they might say it’s the act of forgiving someone or something, having a willingness to forgive someone from something that they’ve done or said to you, or the voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in attitude or feelings in which an offense was inflicted upon them. It might even be a willingness to let go of negative emotions toward someone such as vengeance. It is not condoning the offense or act but the person who forgives may gain the ability to even wish the offender well.
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
We are not to practice sin, keep in my, we do sin daily. Make it a habit to do what is good and wholesome, those things which are pleasing in God’s sight.
