According to 1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. It is my belief that Christians are playing dangerously in traffic with hopes of not getting run over. But quite the contrary will occur if the saints of the most high God don’t align themselves with His Word. The time is now to draw nigh to God.
Below are scriptures to encourage you:
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:14
“But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. Matthew 12:36
“Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy. Leviticus 19:2
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. 2 Corinthians 7:1
And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. Isaiah 35:8
Often times, I think how awful it would be to live this stressful complicated life, only to die and miss the mark. Do not allow your living to be in vain. If living for Christ is what you are confessing, then do it with a whole heart, God let’s us know that He knows our deeds, that we are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other. So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need . But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
You are like the people of Isreal. For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they disobeyed the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey( Joshua 5:6)
Don’t allow the devil to have his way in your life. Shun the very appearance of evil. Do good and most of all keep God’s commandments. Do it because you love him, not because you are fearful of this firey Hell that is described in the Bible. God’s word says if you love Him, you will keep His Commandments. Never give in, never give up. Read your Bible daily, fast and pray. For it is necessary to maintain a holy and acceptable life unto Christ in these perilous time.
As you seek the Lord and look upon the beauty of the Lord in worship, he lifts you above all the distractions, fears and temptations. David says, ‘That’s the only quiet, secure place in a busy world. God holds me head and shoulders above those who try to pull me down’. Psalm 27:5–6
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: Be sober, and be vigilant! Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
