I Was Sinking Deep In Sin, Far From The Peaceful Shore
Just like the hymn, Love lifted me by James Rowe
The love of God has delivered millions of people including me from the shackles of sin. The fantastic news is, He is still in the business of saving lives! Hallelujah!
1 John 4:17-19 gives a picture of what I have been experiencing since I gave my life to Christ Jesus “17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.”
Before now, I was filled with fear, fear of the unknown until I allowed Jesus Christ to take the wheel. Fear is a spirit which holds people bound from living a peaceful and joyful life; God rescued me even when I think I was irredeemable, He made me realized HE loves me and He is in it for the long haul.
No matter how deep in you are, or how far from the peaceful shore you are, God can and will rescue you just as He rescued me from destruction. Let me share the gospel with you; this simple but powerful verse will tell you how precious you are to God.
For God so loved you and me, that He freely gave His only begotten Son, in exchange for us. All we have to do to activate this gift is to believe, trust Him and we will be free from sin (John 3:16).
Do not let the devil lie to you
So many people are scared of coming back to God because the devil has brainwashed them into thinking God will not forgive and accept them again. It is a lie! Luke 15: 20-22
20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
Our God is a merciful God; there is no one like Him; He does not retain His anger forever (Micah 17:8).
Let me paint you a picture; for instance, you have a child, a stubborn child at that, and you warned him not to ride the bike today because it rained last night and everywhere is wet and slippery. Your child promise not do it, but immediately you left the house, he rode the bike as far as he can, he never stopped to think for a minute how angry and disappointed you will be.
A few minutes later, you got a call from the hospital that your son was involved in an accident; he is admitted to the hospital. You rushed to the hospital and saw your son in pains, what will you do? Snap at him and then leave him there to suffer for disobeying you? No!
Luke 11 vs.13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
All He needs from you is genuine repentance, and He will come in to clean up the mess.
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: The greatest gift any man can receive is the gift of salvation.
