How To Live A Fulfilled Life As A Teen Parent

We live in a society where teenagers are victimized because they choose to make certain decisions. One of these decisions is keeping an unplanned pregnancy. If you feel your love as you know it, is over because you are a teen parent. This message is for you. Below are steps on how to live a fulfilled life as a teen parent. It is my desire that you would read with your heart open and not be offended by some of the issues and personal opinions I express in this article. Note that it is only to enlighten you, as well as get you to see the road traps the enemy set before your life. It is the devils one and only job, and that is to wreak havoc in your life; ultimately keeping you from going to heaven. You are in a spiritual ongoing battle from the time you are born my dear.

I want to say now that I am sorry for the harsh reality of this cruel plan against your life. But it is the duty of your Parents, Preachers, Sunday School Teachers, your Youth Counselors as well as anyone else who proclaims the name of Jesus as their personal Savior. To inform you of the snares of the enemy as soon as you are able to comprehend. For this reason we must unite. Realistically many today don’t realize the fight we face on a daily basis, even though we go to church and hear God’s word weekly.

Just because you are a teen parent does not mean you cannot live your dream, the sky is your starting point and not your limit. If you refused to be beaten by the harsh words of the society.

Before you read further, I would like to congratulate you for being strong despite the circumstances. Being in charge of another child life while you barely lived your life, is one of greatest task that you will do. So, congratulations. But let’s make one thing clear I am not an advocate for teenage pregnancy. It is hard for adults to get sex and relationship correct, let alone a 13 year old. The body and having a baby is an intricate thing, and at almost 30 before having my child. My mind was blown, the wonders of God was displaying himself right before my vary eyes; I stood in awe! A baby was evolving within this flesh of mines, and I tremor to see the beauty of this baby. I went through so many changes. I was almost 30! There were still things I didn’t know. Why would anyone want to allow themselves to get pregnant? or not even use protection.

Don’t Be Fooled Girls: There is always time for a condom, if you must have intercourse. That LIE these little boys tell you about it doesn’t feel natural, and they want to really feel you. Is a bunch of hype. Not only that they will also play with your mind and tell you “If you love them, you will allow them to enter you in their natural state” It too, is a bunch of garbage. It’s a mind game, don’t be fooled by their cheap antics and words. They are only thinking about themselves. Workers of iniquity.

Heaven forbid, they have an STD. If so, you will begin to think the devil has totally won in this aspect, but the fight is not over. He allowed you to get tricked by some guy to give your most valuable possession away. The one true thing you can control, your body. There is this rapper/singer by the name of Lyfe Jennings who says in his song “Sex” Guys want relations not relationship. Once it’s gone, you cannot get it back. Keep your virginity for as long as you can, there will be plenty of time for the adult things in life. The world is a cold place full of evil and every trick the devil knows will hurled at you. Keep your head up! Although you have made a mistake, life is not over. There is finishing school, going to College, being an upstanding citizen, and most importantly is giving your life to God.

Make a note of the list below that will help you just in case you find yourself in the situation, a teenager expecting or have had a baby.

What you need to know about parenting
a. Good parenting does not come with age, but with the ability to learn and take responsibility
First of all, just because you are a teen does not mean you will be a bad parent; if you have this mentality, it is time you got rid of it. Parenting is like a racetrack only those who are willing to learn and take responsibilities will finish as a winner. Look around you today; there are “mature” people who do not have a clue about parenting.

b. God still loves and care about you
If you think because of your current situation, that God hates you then you are 100% wrong! God does not hate you, He only hates whatever pain you are going through, and He is ready to help you if you ask Him. Isaiah 49:15 “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Isn’t it wonderful and refreshing to know that even if the world neglects you, God your Maker, will never abandon you?

Jesus Christ didn’t come for the “perfect” people, He clearly stated it in Luke 5:31-32 “31) And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need, not a physician; but they that are sick.
32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” You see? Stop allowing your past to ruin your future! If God is not judging you, who are you to judge yourself? God loves for you is eternal, and He wants you to draw nearer to Him and not the other way round.

c. Parenting does not stop you from going back to school
This is where many teen parents get it wrong; you do not have to leave school because you are now a parent. If you think, you cannot joggle school and parenting at the same time, take some time off. It does not mean you are giving up on your education. There are a lot of programs out there to encourage teen parents to continue their education.

d. You can be the envy of other grownups in the society
Here’s a secret; just because someone is older than you does not mean they can do better than you. The advantage older parents have is the experience, but you can also take advantage of that too. How is that? By learning from their mistakes, and associating with the right people. God has entrusted a life in your hands because He believes you are capable of training the child the right way.

e. You can enjoy the best of both worlds
Once again, your life is not over just because you are a teenager; there are more things to do, more goals to reach. Being a teen parent is not an end but a bend; get up and win this race. It is not the time to allow the spites of the society to hurt and make your life miserable. No! You are more than a conqueror. Romans 8: 37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” You can be the best parent and live your dream.

f. Success is the best revenge
The best way to make your mockers swallow their words is for you to prove them wrong, do not let them see what you are not. Be the strong, intelligent, God fearing, and resilient person you are. If you drop out from school, become a drug addict, irresponsible parent, will only prove to the world that they are right. As unbelievable as it may sound, people are counting on you. Younger people are looking for someone to inspire them to do the right thing. The missing link is you; you are what they’ve been waiting for. Romans 8:19 “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” So, if God has not given up on you, you have no right to give up on yourself.

g. You are not alone
This is not the time to push people away from your life and that of your child. Welcome as many that genuinely want to help you. Above all, God is not angry with you. He wants to help you, all you need to do is to accept His gift of salvation. Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

Seven scriptures that prove God loves you
1) “The Lord, your God, is with you; he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you; he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
2) “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” 1 John 3:1
3) “His banner over me is love.” Song of Songs 2:4
4) “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ” 1 John 4:9-11
5) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16
6) As the Father has loved me, so have, I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
1. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.
2. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
3. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you so that you will love one another. John 15:9-17
7) Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations. Deuteronomy 7:9

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: Refresh your spirit every day with the above scriptures; for the word of God is our defense. Meditate on His word, and you will overcome all life’s troubles.

Anita’s Thoughts: I need to say I am totally against teenage Pregnancy. It amounts to babies having babies, their bodies aren’t developed, and young girls lack maturity. At the end of the day, grandparents are the ones raising these babies. It is unfair, ungodly, and creates a unfortunate situation for the teen. Concerning school, finances, as well as future achievements. My final thoughts are as such, the devil is roaming, seeking whom he may devour. The alarming rate of Teenage Pregnancy is one of Satan’s tactics. He is busy and we as people cannot see his wicked devices. Think spiritual first, then natural. Scriptures tells us
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek myface and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

The best thing to do is to require the teen to tend to her child, unless in school. A part time job to buy needed items for she and the baby. A tight schedule to abide by. After having a heart to heart conversation of the expectations that are required from her as a young mother. I personally would set up a strategy to help enlighten her on real life struggles, business, teachings, and how to care for her child. The funny thing about teen pregnancy is that the teen cannot financially care for themselves and a lot of times have more attitude than we care to talk about, as if we owe them.

At 20 years old my daughter had the twins. When she told me she was moving out and going to have a child. It blew my mind and I tried to encourage her not to make that mistake. With no job, her or the twins father were solely dependent on their parents. It took me a moment to realize that we were enabling my child instead of making here be self sufficient. But once I did, I had to make some serious changes. A step you as parents of these teenagers will have to do as well. I hope you found this information useful, and will apply it to your life.

Songs: For your Teenagers to take to heart even though they are secularThey still have a strong message.

2. Ludacris – Runaway Love ft. Mary J. Blige
