How To Change Your Financial Luck
If you have been thinking of how to change your financial luck positively, how to make more money, or how to attract money to your life, don’t worry, you are not alone. Sadly, a lot of us leave our finances to chances; you hear people say “Oh, his success in business was by chance, or she got lucky that’s why she is rich.”
Beware of people saying these things, and if you are part of them, stop saying it. There is no unplanned “luck or chance” everything you are today, is as a result of the decisions, you took in the past. In addition, anything you will be tomorrow is as a result of the choices you will make today.
As Christians, we tend to leave everything to God, for Him to solve for us. We have been disappointed in some ways when we do not get the help we are looking for. God has made everything available to us; it is up to us to take the right steps.
Even though we cannot wish it into reality, there are some rules you follow that will change your financial luck.
Pay yourself ten percent of your income
This secret was culled from The Richest Man in Babylon, it has helped me a great deal, and I know it will help you too. When you cultivate the habit of saving 10% of every money that comes your way, you have a sense of fulfillment.
If you have not been saving part of your income, it simply means you have been earning to pay others; you have been paying your landlord, shopkeeper, electrician, dressmaker, baker, butcher, the government, etc. you have been paying everyone but yourself. Cultivate the habit of paying yourself; add it to your billing list.
Late last year, after reading the book “the richest man in Babylon” I started saving some percentage of my income, at first it was not easy, but as I continued nonetheless, I saved up money that I thought I would not be able to save.
I was happy with my accomplishment, and the sense of fulfillment started creeping in, I wanted to learn more, to do more. I was so pleased with myself, and my positive state of mind attracted positive things to my life.
“But what I have is barely enough for me” here’s a fact, money is never enough to settle your needs. However, you just have to set boundaries, rearrange your priorities, take off the things you can do without from the list, and you will be free. Savings is never fun, especially when you are not used to it, but you need to discipline yourself to change your financial luck.
Do not mistake your seed for bread
This second step is quite similar to the first one. 2 Corinthians 9:10 “Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)” not all blessings are meant for the mouth. Every day, God daily loads us with His benefit; the big question is, what do you do with your daily portion of benefit?
A year ago, I came across t2 Corinthians 9:10, and it dawned on me that God is not an unjust God, He freely gives us what we need in life, but the final decision to utilize these things lies on us. The verse shows that He provides seeds to the sower, and bread to the eater, and leads us to this question; are you a sower or eater?
A sower or a planter, means those who plant/invest their resources, while the eaters are those who eat their resources. In due season, a farmer will harvest whatever he has planted, thereby having more to eat, and enough to plant. The eater, on the other hand, will keep begging for bread because he didn’t reserve any to plant.
The parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-35 explains what is happening in our lives today. The Master praised the men who have five talents and two talents respectively, and took the one who did nothing with his talent, and gave it to the man with five more talents.
This shows that, for every income you receive, must be accounted for. When you train yourself to be accountable, you tend to draw money or ways to earn more in your direction.
God does not like wastage, He keeps a record of everything that comes and goes, and that is how we should act too. After Jesus fed the 5000 people, He instructed the disciples to gather the leftovers. (Matthew 14:13-21)
In conclusion, do not eat all your earnings, reserve some; be the planter and also the eater. When the universe sees you have a good use for whatever is in your hands no matter how small it is, then you are set for the more significant money.
Now you know the rules of saving, and also planting (investing), however, in order not to lose your monies, you need to invest wisely. Something happened to me, late last year; after I have successfully cultivated a life of savings,
I know the next step is to put the funds into good use. Like it or not, money does not come or stay with people who hoard them. You will never be wealthy by saving money in the bank without putting them into profitable use.
Bitcoin raved the market; almost everyone was talking about it- it got to an all-time high price of nearly $20,000 for one bitcoin! I was intrigued by it, and I was scared that if I do not buy some, I may not get the chance of getting at that price.
So, I used my savings to get some bitcoins. What I failed to do is to study and understand the market. I didn’t know what I was doing, and I had FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). It turned out that it wasn’t a wise move, I didn’t seek any professional idea, and I just went with the crowd.
Before you invest, ensure you study whatever you want to put your money into, do not be in a hurry to plant your seeds, without checking if the land is fertile to avoid attracting bad luck.
Yes, you heard right, be kind to your customers. The saying “Customer I king” should be one of your business mottos. When you notice, you are not pulling sales like your business counterparts, check your attitude towards your clients. Do you have a professional, and friendly customer support?
The most effective advert, is the peer to peer advert, when you treat your customer with disrespect, you are bound to receive negative reviews from them, which may affect more your sales negatively. Be nice to your client, no matter how small you think they are, you will attract more sales.
Encourage yourself: Determination and consistency will help you change your financial luck.
