One Of The Benefits Of Acceptable Giving

Not all giving is acceptable before the Lord, our God. However, there are many things to enjoy from living a life of giving, only if you can correct the wrong mindset of giving.

It is more blessed to give – Acts 20:34-35 “Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

35) I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

The blessings of God are not restricted to money; it is just an aspect of God’s blessings. Blessings can be in the form of divine health, speed in all your endeavors, favor, etc. God blesses you according to what He thinks you need per time and not what you want. What you want may not be what you need. He is your Father, your Maker, and He knows you more than you do.

2 Corinthians 9:8 -And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Proverbs 11:25 “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall also be watered himself.”

Your gifts to others can speak for you, even in the lives of your children. When you live a life of giving, your generation will not beg for bread.

Proverbs 18:16 “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”

It took me years before I was able to understand the mystery behind giving. If you must see blessings you have never seen before, then lay it into your heart to be a blessing to others.

The Secret To Open Doors

The universe will only give more to those who are willing to pass it to others, and not to those who want to keep all for themselves. I was privileged to live with my maternal aunt for years. I watched how she give to those who are in need, even when she does not have enough for herself.

When we lost our parents, then she just graduated from university. She brought us to live with her. My other uncles and aunties didn’t want to be responsible for our upkeep. They gave one excuse after the other. We did not complain, so long as we have our aunty by our side. While taking care of three girls, she was still giving alms to the needy around her.

I noticed her life was quite different from her siblings, and her friends. The more she help people, the more favored she became. That was when it dawned on me that givers never lack, and our Lord Jesus Christ was right when He said, it is more blessed to give than to receive. Those of her friends and siblings who kept receiving from her never gotten more than her financially.

The Giver and the Receiver

Here is one financial secret that will turn your life around; if you want to be wealthy, then practice acceptable giving. This secret is not restricted to the Christians-it is one of the laws of wealth. That is why you see many people who do not believe in Jesus Christ, yet are soaring high in business. When you study their lives, you will find out that they give to different charity organizations; they help as many as they can.

In wealth, there are two types of persons; the giver, and the receiver. The giver will ALWAYS be higher than the receiver. This is the law; the receiver will not always be satisfied.

Fortunately for us, you can switch from being the receiver to the giver. Do you want to know how? Start giving from the level you are at now; purpose in your heart to be a blessing to someone. It may not be in monetary value. It could be sharing your knowledge with someone in need of it.

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

The Universe Dislikes Wasters And Hoarders

During my early days of working, I was doing well. Money was coming, but I did not imply wisdom in spending them. You see, money comes to those who are willing to make GOOD use of it. They leave the hands of wasters and do not multiply in the hands of hoarders.

Back to my story, I had a boyfriend then, who I never knew came because of the little inflow of cash I was earning from my work. Whenever I received my paycheck, he would come with a sob story, and I will be obliged to share some of my earnings with him. This continued for almost two years until the source of my income got blocked. I realized that I have not been saving, and the investments my boyfriend talked me into investing, crashed. I was left with nothing. This is how money works; it does not stay with people, who do not put them into good use.

When my boyfriend noticed there was no more money to get from me, we broke up. To be fair, he waited for three months before we broke up.

I had to start all over again; I started reading books on finances and praying to God for another opportunity to make it right.

God is merciful; things started turning up for me; I got a job that was fetching me enough to take care of myself. This time, I was more accountable with every dime I’d spend. I learned a lot from my experience with my ex-boyfriend. Before investing in any business, I ensure I do my research.

With the little I was earning, I decided to be a giver. Although I may not have enough for myself, I do know some people need what I do not need anymore. So, I gave things out, instead of letting them rot. I also purposed in my heart to stop asking my aunt for everything, and take some responsibilities myself.

It worked and is working. I may not be where I would love to be, but I am no longer where I used to be. The thought alone is enough for me to be grateful, which leads us to the next secret.

Be Grateful

Some people are not growing as they should, not because they are not hard working, but because they are not thankful of what they already have. Living a lifestyle of gratitude makes you joyful, and when you are joyful, you will attract positive things to your life. No matter how poor you think you are, there are people that are far worse than you.

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: So be grateful for what you have now; it is one of the keys to move to the next level. Sincerely Joy

A Ploy To Rob Christians Or Not?

Givers Never Lack, A Ploy To Rob Christians Or Not?

Tithing, was it nail to the cross? How will we really know what the scriptures want?

When I was seven or eight, I am not really sure the exact age I was then, but I know I was still a babe, and do not understand most things happening around me. I saw a sticker on a bumper, which reads “givers never lack”. It didn’t make any sense to me… how can giver not lack? I pondered on it for a few days but got no explanation. I didn’t want to ask the adults around me, because I was scared they will tell me what I didn’t want to hear “it is good to share your stuff with other people.”

When I was growing up, ministers of the gospel preached and still preaching the mystery behind giving. They backed it up with scriptures, but again, I was not ready to dive into the giving life. There was no tangible evidence to back their claims; the people around were not wealthy, and the rich people I know, were not willing to help the needy yet they were living their dream life.

Why Do You Give?

Years after, I became steadfast in serving God and His kingdom, I attended service more, and I started practicing giving-not because I love to do it, but becauseI felt obligated to do so. Secondly, most preachers tend to make Christians believe that their inconsistency in tithes and offerings are the reasons Christians are not living the life they wanted.

Giving Out Of Fear

I practiced giving without understanding the purpose for it. I gave, because the pastor said we should, not because Jesus Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our faith instructed us to give. I gave because I felt, if we do not give our tithes and offerings, we will be paving ways for the destroyers to come, closing the doors to more blessings, and God will punish us for not obeying the“giving law”.

The truth is, if these are the reasons you are giving to people around you, or paying your tithes then you are wrong. Many Christians believe giving is trade by barter, when I give this, I will get that in return. When such instances do not work, the givers become frustrated. Do you want to hear or in this case, read something interesting? God loves you with or without your tithe.

Letus focus on giving and not tithe now… I need you to pause right now and think about your giving lately. Are you giving because you are scared of the consequences, or do you give because you love to give?

Here is what you will not hear every day-giving is essential in life. Christianity was birthed on giving.

John3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

God so loved… not God so feared, or God felt obligated, but He so much loved you and me, that He sacrificed His only Son Jesus Christ to save us. You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.

God, our Heavenly Father, thought of us even before our parents gave birth to us. Jesus Christ died for us way before we heard about Him. So, what made you think He will be angry with you if you do not pay your tithe or give to the church?

The position you are occupying today, He enabled you to get it. Deuteronomy 8:18 “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

The Right Mindset Of Giving

Give in Love

God is more interested in the state of your heart than what is in your hand 2 Corinthians 8:12 “For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.”

The reason our offerings, of help to the needy around us, is not acceptable to Godis because we do not do it in love-instead, we think of the possible things we will gain from it.

1 Corinthians 13:3  If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Christianity sprung from love and then giving. You need to LOVE first before you give. When you genuinely love God, you will love His people.

How can you love God whom you have not seen, and hate your brothers who live around you? 1 John 4:20. Is your giving wrapped in love, or what you hope to collect in return?

Give In Secret

This is the jet age-it is easy for everything to be placed on the internet, including your act of kindness. However, your acts of kindness should not announce to the public. Help people and keep it yourself, and let your Heavenly Father reward you in the open.

Matthew 6:2 NIV “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.”

Give According To Your Level

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: God knows the present level of every man; He sees the heart, He knows what you have and your current level.

2 Corinthians 9:6  “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall also reap bountifully.”

Some ministers of the Gospel have misinterpreted the above scripture; they have indirectly coerced Christians into giving more, instead of giving according to what the Lord has blessed them with. If you take a look at the next verse, 7-Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”

When ever you give out of coercion, it will yield nothing.

2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Encourage yourself by repenting and asking God to heal our land. after turning from your wicked ways

Listen my friends, I must tell it to you straight. Many things are occurring in the world, evil is running rampant, the enemy appears to be winning, so many senseless acts of violence occur on a daily basis. People are sick and dying in record numbers.

But no one stops to think of the word of God and what it says, which is the scripture quoted at the top of the page. Many cry out to Jesus, when they find themselves in trouble. Only to turn back to their same old ways once God has blessed them.

Many forget that it was never God’s plan for us to die, or be sick. It was only because of the rebellious spirit of Adam and Eve that we are in the conditions we are in. Know that we have hope in Christ if we live according to the word of God.

That would consist of living a Holy and separated life from the world as we know it. One must also know that Hell is enlarging herself so, because so many are going, according to God’s word.

Knowledge is power, and people perish for the lack of knowledge. The Bible goes as far as to tell us that. We will never know this, if we don’t read His word. He gives us the tools needed for a successful life in Christ.

It is God’s will that we prosper and be in good health. The word of God also lets us know that, we have not, because we ask not. Ask Christ to come into your life, to save your soul, and make a difference in your life. To create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within.

Man loves the sin that he is in. As a matter of fact, man thinks he can live according to his own will, and still die and go to Heaven. Well it’s not true, according to the word of the most high God.

In Matthew 25:46
“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

Romans 2:6-8 “Who will render to every man according to his deeds. To them who by patient continuance in well doing find glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. But unto them are contentious, and do not bey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

God lets us know that He will heal our land. After we do our part.

Cleansing Power

Crying is good for the soul, just as laughter is medicine to the soul. Even though it is beyond your control at times, a good cry might be just what you need.

The tears have a cleansing power that has magnificent healing agents. Crying releases endorphins which are a group of hormones secreted in the brain and nervous system. Having a number of physiological functions. Which are peptides that activate the body’s opiate receptors, usually causing a analgesic effect.

Encourage yourself through the cleansing power of crying. It helps release tension, anger, and hurt

Allow the power of your tears to help heal you. You will be and feel much better when you can allow these moments to have it’s way periodically. My motto is let out, once you are done, dry up your tears, square your shoulders, set your face as flint, and keep moving forward.

Whatever you do, do not allow yourself to stay in a state of depression, sadness, or anger. Release those fears, feelings, whatever they might be.

God is just a prayer away. Have a little talk with Jesus, and tell Him all about your troubles. He will hear your faintest cry, and answer by and by.

Despicable Me…

What if you did something dispicable, and you couldn't tell anyone, because you have accepted Christ in your life?

How does one define the word despicable? The meaning of despicable is deserving hatred and contempt.

What if you did something you could never share with anyone? Something so reprehensible, so awful, you are better off keeping it to yourself.

The thing is this, you confess to be a follower of Christ, and yet you couldn’t even contain yourself. It was as if you were void of any understanding at all. You have committed the ultimate sin, and yet you must suffer in silence.

You know very well there isn’t a single soul you could tell, because of the judgment that would be cast down on you. At work, at church, and even family members.

So you sit in a daze often thinking back on that moment in time when your foot slipped and you found yourself in a detestable ordeal. Although you were enjoying the moment. It was yet wrong, wrong for so many reasons. Wrong because he wasn’t my husband, for he belong to someone else.

What if you thought you had it all in control, but this moment clarified the fact that you didn’t. You realized that you are human, and you made a mistake. How do you live with yourself? How do you see his wife and not behave differently?

After you have repented, what do you do? Do you share? Do you stay away from people? Do you fast and pray more? Do you dive head first into your bible more? Is repenting enough?

Are all my good deeds worthless now? I am disgusted by my actions, and have a distaste for this person now. Am I blaming him and not sharing fault in this matter as well?

Why hasn’t the guilt gone away? Am I making too much of this matter? Maybe I am not making enough of it?

Encourage Yourself: This is my conclusion on this matter. I was wrong, we were wrong. I have repented and need to totally give it to God to handle. I need to separate myself completely from these people and be in a covenant relationship with trusted individuals.

I must be accountable to God and devoted to my relationship with Christ. I must also shun the very appearance of evil. I must be the virtuous woman the Bible speaks about.

No longer will I say despicable me, no longer will I hang my head down. I will commit to the singles group at church and minimize my gatherings with married couples. I will even seek professional help if needed.

I will have integrity and a better moral compass. I will speak life into my situation and not death. Most of all I will devote more time to God.
