My Jesus is Alive!
Easter, to so many people, means different things; to some, it is another opportunity to receive gifts or give gifts to their loved ones, some like the no-work days, while others do not see any reason to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But what does it really signify? Basically, Easter means the resurrection of Jesus, in essence, Jesus Christ’s victory over death. Furthermore, Easter symbolizes paid debts by Jesus Christ to all who believe in Him John 3:16
It is also the proof of all what Jesus preached and taught during His ministry here on Earth. Just imagine if Jesus did not overcome death, if He merely died and did not resurrect as He preached, He would have been considered another Rabbi. Jesus Christ victory over death confirmed that He is the Messiah spoke about in Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
3 Benefits of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ
There are several benefits believers can enjoy in the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, among others are:
Bridge the gap between man and God
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”
The above scripture shows us the motive of Jesus Christ here on earth; when Adam and Eve fall out of God’s promises, there became a game between man and God due to man’s sins. In the Old Testament, no man can come into God’s presence except the priest, and even the priest needs sanctification before attempting to enter the Holy of Holies.
The good news is, Jesus Christ came to bridge the gap between man and God. Furthermore, we now have free access to the Kingdom; the veil was torn in two Matthew 27:51 “And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent”
The veil was a reminder that sin renders humanity unfit for the presence of God, and it was to keep us at bay; man needed the priest to intercede for them. However, the resurrection of Jesus Christ torn the veil in two. You and I do not need the minister, priest, reverend or bishop to intercede for us anymore. He has given us the boldness to come into His presence! Glory!
Hebrews 4:14-16 “14) Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God let us hold fast our profession.15) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 ) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them”
The above verse did not say, where two or three priest, pastor, evangelist or deacons/deaconesses are gathered, just where two or three believers are gathered in His name, He is there.
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Again, the fall of man brought death into this world, but Jesus Christ came to fix the problem; He came to restore life, abundant life to those who believe in the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”
Back in the olds, when people sin, they have to sacrifice an animal to appease God, to be washed clean, but Jesus Christ who in the form of human lived a sinless life came to sacrifice Himself for us all! Hallelujah! We do not have to kill a spotless animal anytime we have gone astray, Jesus Christ has taken care of that. John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
By His stripes we are healed
Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
One of the many plagues that fell on man during the fall is sickness and diseases. When God created Adam and put him in the Garden of Eden, He did not make any provision for hospitals, because by healing is his birthright. There were no sickness, pain, or diseases; Adam lived a sickness-free life until after the fall. Jesus Christ came to restore EVERYTHING man has lost because of sin. Every strip represent a disease or sickness, and Jesus Christ bore the brunt, the pain of our sin on the cross, and at the end, He looked up and said “It is finished” that pain, that disease, that fibroid, that cancer, that epilepsy, every disease you can think of is GONE! Praise the Lord!!!
Encourage Yourself: In conclusion, Easter is a reminder of Jesus Christ’s victory death and all forces of the darkness. It is also a reassurance of our redemptive rights we have in Jesus, so sing out loud, be joyful, and celebrate your freedom from the shackles of sin because Our JESUS IS ALIVE!!!
