Bread Of Life

Jesus the bread of life has come that we might have life more abundantly, if we only eat of this bread and drink of this cup

The Bread of Life, A story written by John (a disciple) John 6:1-71

Jesus the bread of life, journeyed across the lake in Galilee. With a large following behind him. They had seen the miracles of healing the sick and wounded. Jesus went up the mountain top and sat with his disciples. The time is near for the Passover Festival. Jesus looked and saw a large crowd coming towards him, so he asked Philip. “Where can we buy food to feed this many people?” (This was to test Philip; Jesus already knew the outcome.) Philip responded, “For everyone to have a little, we would need more than two hundred pieces of silver to buy enough bread.”

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. Said, “There is a boy here who has five loaves of barley bread and two fish. But it shall not be enough for all these people.” “Instruct the people to sit down,” Jesus told them. All the people sat; and there were five thousand men. Jesus then took the bread, gave thanks unto God, and passed it to the many people who were sitting. He also did the same with the fish, and they all had as much as they desired. When they were full, he said to his disciples, “Gather all that is left over; let us not waste any.” So they gathered all and filled twelve baskets with the pieces left over, from the five barley loaves the people had eaten.

Seeing the miracle Jesus had performed, the people said, “Surely this is the Prophet who has come into the world!” Jesus was aware that they would to come and seize him, in order to make him king by force; so he went again to the mountain alone.

As evening fell, Jesus’ disciples went to the lake, entered the boat, and went across the lake to Capernaum. Night came, and Jesus still had not returned to them. Just then a strong wind was blowing and stirring up the water. The disciples had rowed about up to four miles when they saw Jesus walking on the water. As he approached the boat, they were terrified. “Don’t be afraid,” Jesus told them, “it is I!” They willingly took Jesus into the boat, and almost immediately the boat had reached the land at the place they were heading.

Next morning the crowd which had stayed on the other side of the lake, knew that there had been only one boat there. They realized that Jesus had not gone with his disciples, but that they left without him. Other boats, which were from Tiberias. Had come to shore near the place the crowd had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. When the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, or his disciples, they got into those boats and went to Capernaum, looking for him. After the people found Jesus on the other side of the lake, they said to him, “Teacher, when did you get here?”

Jesus answered, “I am telling you the truth: you have looked for me only because you ate the bread and had all you desired, not because you understood my miracles. You should never work for food that spoils; instead, work for the food that last for eternal life. This is food which the Son of Man will give you, because God, our Father, has put His mark of approval on Him.”

They then asked Jesus, “What shall we do, in order to do what God desires us to do?”
Jesus answered, “What God wants you to do is to believe in the one he sent.” They answered, “What miracle will you perform that we may see it and believe in you? What shall you do? Our ancestors ate manna in the desert. “I am telling you the truth,” Jesus said. “What Moses gave you was not the bread from heaven; it is my Father who gives you the real bread from heaven. “Sir,” they asked him, “give us this bread.” “I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “Those who come to me will never hunger; or those who believe in me will never thirst.

I have told you that you have seen me, but will not believe. Everyone who my Father gives me will come to me. I will never deny anyone who comes to me, because I have come from heaven to do not my own will, but the will of him who has sent me. It is the will of him who has sent me that I should not lose any, of all those he has given me. I should raise them all to life on the last day. For what my Father wants is that all who see the Son and believe in him, shall have life everlasting. And I will raise them to life on the last day.”

The people began complaining about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” So they said, “Isn’t this man Jesus son of Joseph? We know his mother and father. How, then, can he now say he has come from heaven?”

Jesus replied, “Stop your complaining amongst yourselves. People cannot come to me, unless the Father who has sent me draws them near to me; and I will raise them to life on the last day. The prophets begin to write, ‘Everyone will be schooled by God.’ Anyone who hears the Father and learns from him comes to me. This does not mean you have seen the Father; he who is from God is the only one who has seen the Father. I am telling you the truth: if you believe you will have eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but have died.

But the bread from heaven, is of such, that whosoever eats it will not parish. I am the true and living bread that came from the heavens. When you eat this bread, you will never die but shall live forever. This bread I will give you is of my flesh, that I give so that the world might live.”

This started an angry argument among them. “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” they asked.
Jesus said to them, “I am telling you the truth: if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in yourselves. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them to life on the last day. For my flesh is the real food; my blood is the real drink. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me, and I live in them.

The living Father sent me, and because of him I live also. In the same way whoever eats me will live because of me. This, then, is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread that your ancestors ate, but then later died. Those who eat this bread will live forever more.”

Jesus taught this as he spoke in the synagogue in Capernaum. Many of his followers heard this and responded, “This teaching is difficult. Who can listen to it?” Without being told, Jesus knew that they were complaining again about this, so he said to the people, “Does this make you want to give in? Suppose, then, you should see the Son of Man go back up to the place where he was before? God’s Spirit gives life; human power is no help at all. The words I speak to you bring God’s life-giving Spirit.

For some of you do not believe in Jesus teachings.” (Jesus was aware from the beginning the ones that would not believe and who would betray him.) He added, “This is the reason I tell you that no one can come to me unless the Father makes it possible for them to do so.”

Because of this, many of the followers turned back and would not go with him. He then asked the twelve disciples, “And what about you, would you like to leave also?”

Simon Peter responded him, “My Lord, to whom would we go? You are the one that gives eternal life. Now we believe and now know that you are the Holy One, who have come from God.”

Jesus answered him and said, “I have chosen the twelve of you, didn’t I? But one of you, are a devil!” He knew in his heart it was Judas, from the lineage of Simon Iscariot. For Judas, even though he was one of the twelve disciples, he was the one who betrayed Jesus.

“Abundant” in the Greek is perisson, “exceedingly,  highly, beyond measure, superfluous, the abundance as to be considerably more than what we could believe or expect.” In other words, Jesus promises to us a life much better than we could even imagine, a concept reminiscent of 1 Corinthians 2:9: “ Eyes haven’t seen, nor ears heard, neither has it entered the minds what God prepared for those He loves.” The apostle Paul told us God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and God does it by His power. The power that is at work in us and through us, if we believe in Him (Ephesians 3:20)

Encourage Yourself: Jesus let’s us know that He came that we might have life, and life more abundantly through eternity.

Mesothelioma

Causes and symptoms for Mesothelioma, how to treat and know that it is not a death sentence.

What is Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is an uncommon cancer that affects the tissues of the lungs or torso, covering the vital organs. Many times it is not detected until it is in the advanced stages. If you have Mesothelioma, note that there is no cure, but prognosis are improving. It has been said that it is not a death sentence, so no worries when they diagnose you with this illness. Don’t feel the need to run out and start planning your funeral just yet.

Signs and Symptoms

The many signs and symptoms for Mesothelioma are weight loss, chest pain, painful coughing, muscle weakness, fever, shortness of breath, complications with Respiratory, extreme fatigue, wheezing, coughing, bowel obstruction, loss of appetite, blood clotting, coughing blood, and many more.

Cause of Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is caused by Asbestos which is an insulation that is can be Blue, Brown or White, that is heat and fire resistant. That is breathe into the body for long periods of time. Often times Mesothelioma can be difficult to diagnosed.

Exposure to Asbestos is the primary cause of Pleural Mesothelioma. When asbestos fibers are breathed in, they travel to the ends of small air passages and reach the Pleural, where they can cause scarring and inflammation. This may damage cells’ DNA and might cause changes that result in uncontrolled cell growth. If ingested, these fibers can possibly reach the abdominal walls. Which can lead to a role in causing Peritoneal Mesothelioma.

Most people who come in contact with asbestos, even in large amounts, do not get Mesothelioma. Other factors, such as a person’s genes, may make them more likely to develop this sickness when exposed to asbestos. For example, researchers have found that some people who seem to be at high risk have changes in BAP1, a gene that normally helps keep cell growth under control.

Mesothelioma Survival Rate

The treatment for mesothelioma depends on whether or not it has spread. Unfortunately, when mesothelioma is diagnosed, it has usually already spread beyond the point where it could be removed. You should have a full discussion with your doctor who knows your case. A specialist will be able to give the advantages and disadvantages, the success rate, possible side-effects and other details about the various possible treatments for Mesothelioma.

Surgery

Surgery may be an option if your Mesothelioma is in one area of your Pleura. This operation may involve removing part, or all, of your Pleura and a portion of your lung that is closes to the Pleura. This type of procedure is called a Pleurectomy. Patients may have surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible in order to improve their symptoms. It is unlikely for you to have surgery if you have Peritoneal Mesothelioma, as this procedure is less likely to cure Mesothelioma.

FYI: In many cases, treatment is aimed to cure the cancer. Doctors tend to use the word ‘remission’ other than the word ‘cured’. The term remission means there is no visible signs of cancer following your treatment. If ‘in remission’, you may be healed. However, in some cases cancer can return months or years later. This is why doctors are often times, reluctant to use the word cured.

 Radiotherapy

Radiotherapy is a treatment which uses high energy beams of radiation which focuses on cancerous tissue.

This kills cancer cells, or stops cancer cells from multiplying. Radiotherapy is often used to improve symptoms such as pain or shortness of breath and also to reduce the size of any tiny lumps (nodules) that may have formed. Some people may be given radiotherapy after their surgery.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is the treatment for cancer that uses anti-cancer medicines which kill or stop cancer cells from multiplying. Chemotherapy is sometimes given and can slow the growth and improve symptoms.

 Other treatment

If you have recurrent effusions. Where the fluid builds up between the linings of your lungs. A possible procedure is available to help reduce the risk of this happening in the future. This is called a Pleurodesis. During a Pleurodesis, is a procedure that causes Pleural and the lining of the lings to come together. A chemical is then injected into this space, which prevents the fluid from forming again. A local Anesthetic numbs the skin so it is painless.

What is the Prognosis?

In most cases, the prognosis is generally poor. The prognosis is usually best if you are diagnosed in the early stage, when the Mesothelioma is still tiny. An operation may then give a good you a chance of being cure. However, with most people, Mesothelioma is diagnosed when it is usually too far gone, which means that a cure is less likely. For most people with Mesothelioma, the expected lifespan after diagnosis is not more than 1-2 years. However, treatment can often slow down the advancing of this illness.

The treatment of cancer is a continuous developing area of medicine. New treatments continue to developed every day. Your doctor can give more accurate information about your particular prognosis. Also tell you how well your type or stage of Mesothelioma is likely to respond to current treatment.

Encourage Yourself: You can be healed in Jesus Name’, but remember this, it is not our will, but God’s. He has the last and final say. As the scriptures point out, “it is appointed once for man to die.”  or “to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord.” Yes we all want to live as long as possible, I know I do. If for no other reason than those three beautiful grand babies of mines. But if you are a christian, you already know what the bible says about life and death. Live each day like it’s your last, but remember to plan for tomorrow.

Before You Divorce

A divorce is should be the last resort, and would like you to work it out

Before You Throw Your Marriage Away, Consider This First
Before you sign those divorce papers, I would like you to take a minute or perhaps five minutes of your time to read this; it is specially written for those who are tired of their marriage and feel divorce is the only solution to solve the problem. So, I need you to drop the pen and open your mind to what you are about to read.

First of all, this article is not trying to stop you from quitting on your marriage, neither is it trying to encourage you to quit on your partner. However, it aims to show you some things you ought to know, that will make a difference in your life. Moreover, you can choose to go ahead with the divorce after reading the article. All I ask is for you to open your mind and learn a thing or two.

Secondly, I would like to congratulate you… yes, you for getting to this point. It means you are willing to learn something that will create a positive impact in your life.

Do you know there is a blueprint for everything God created including marriage? God is the instigator of marriage. (Genesis 2:18–25): “Then the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.’  So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept, took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.”

The above scripture shows God’s stance on marriage, and for God to be the founder of marriage, it shows marriage is good (Genesis 1:31).
If marriage is good, why are there so many broken homes? The answer to these questions lies in the word of God. Let us look at some chapters in the bible
(Ephesians 5:21-33) “21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having a spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this, cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

The chapter shows us the way God wants it to be; it is not for His selfish reasons, but for our good.

How can I submit to a man who makes me unhappy?
Before I continue, I will like to tell you the truth about happiness; no one can make you happy except you. If you depend on humans as your source of happiness, I am sorry to say this, but you will end up being unhappy for a very long time. Everyone knows the verses we just read; some even recite it, just to drive home their point, but do we understand the meaning of the verses? We sometimes get tired when our partner is not “cooperating” or reciprocating the effort, love, or care we are putting in the relationship and then anger sets in. (Verse 22) speaks on how women should submit to their husband; submit to your husband as you would submit to God. Do you worship God because of what you aim to get from Him or do you worship Him because of Who He is?

Worshiping God for who He is and not for what He can give you is the right way to serve our Father. If you can get this right, you will be able to see what God meant by (Ephesians 5:22). God wants you to submit to your husband not because he does everything for you, but because he is your husband and God told us to do so. Marriage is not an avenue to trade emotions; if he loves me, I will be submissive. No! Take the “trade by barter” mindset away from your marriage; it won’t work! The mindset may work in your business, but not in marriage. Marriage is selfless and not selfish. Until you understand this, you will keep seeing divorce as the only solution to your unhappiness.

How can I love a woman who is not submissive to me?
Verse 25 of the same chapter portrays the real picture of how God wants men to love their wives. Unfortunately, you cannot fully understand the love God has for us unless you are born again. However, I will try to explain it as simple as possible for all to understand. Christ loves the church (you and I) that He lay His life to rescue us from destruction even while we didn’t know Him. God wants you to love your wife, in good times and in bad times. No one is perfect; we all are working towards perfection. So, the level of submission in your wife shouldn’t reduce the love you have for her. It did not reduce the Love Christ has for the church, so why should you dislike your wife just because she is not submissive? (John 15:12): “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

What if, it is too late?
It is never too late to fight for your marriage. ( 1 Corinthians 13:13): “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” As you continue to love and submit to your spouse, you need to have faith in your marriage and hope for a positive change.

For every action, there is an equal reaction
Do you remember the joy you felt during your wedding, and probably the early days, weeks, months or even years of your marriage? I believe you are asking yourself “ what went wrong?” the mistakes most couples make is omitting the “dating” from their marriage and focus on other things except their partner. It is not because they no longer love their spouse, but because they are so used to their partners that they do not feel the need to “impress” them. The bible speaks about divorce, it actually uses the term “putting away”

Some marriages experience a drastic decline in love for one another immediately kids join the equation. This is not right, children are God’s gifts to add the extra spice to the marriage, but it is not a recipe for a loveless marriage. You and your partner met before the kids, and you will still be together after the kids leave the nest. You (you and your partner) are all you have. If you think your kids will be with you forever, think again. Just as you left your parents, your children will do the same. So, why neglect the one permanent person in your life for people who will leave as soon as they can stand on their own feet? Mark 10:9: “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” No one stands for businesses, friends, family, children, neighbors, etc.

I am not saying you shouldn’t take care of your children; there should be a balance. Learn to carve out time for your partner; remember, your children are watching and learning from you. if you do not show love to your spouse, they may not show love to theirs when they grow up. Take your time to think how you and your spouse found yourself in the current loveless marriage, retrace your steps (apologize if you have to) and work things out from there.

How do I love my spouse?
The amazing thing about the Word of God is, it has the latest solution for every problem including your marriage. Below are scriptures that will show you how to love your partner. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5): “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”

1 Peter 3:7: “In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.” (Ephesians 4:32): “Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”( Ephesians 4:2): “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Hebrews 10:24-25): “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

(Ephesians 4:2-3): “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Cost of divorce can vary, Nolo.com

Encourage Yourself: Where do I start?
The best way to start, is to invite Jesus Christ into your home; rededicate your marriage to God, and He will help you save your marriage. (2 Corinthians 5:17) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Do not get a divorce, wait on Jesus and allow Him to help you.

I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.” (Matthew 19:9)

Jesus answered, “It was because of your hardness of heart that Moses permitted you to divorce; but it was not God’s way from the beginning. 9) Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits adultery.” 10) His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.” Note that I don’t believe in divorce unless someone is abusive. But I do realize in today’s world many are divorcing. I will say it is better to leave than to stay and make each other uncomfortable or unhappy.

Many will get a divorce anyhow, but remember it is not God’s way. There are many methods and resources to utilize if a divorce is your only way out. Sources below are as follow:

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES FOR WOMEN

Inspiration to encourage women of all walks of life

Being a woman is unbelievably hard. Women are the most oppressed group in history. In recent times, there have been larger groups of women coming out and demanding equality but this journey did not start ten or twenty years ago. It started centuries ago, those women were the ones who paved the way that you now walk upon. Those women demanded the right to education, they demanded the right to work, the right to vote, the right to be treated as human beings. The first resistance gave birth to feminism, they nurtured it and that nurturing is what enabled it to become the giant it is today. Here lies true Inspiration.

In the midst of this massive movement, it can be hard trying to continue resisting especially when you’re not seeing the results you expected. However, you must not give up. Not now. Not ever, and to help you with this journey, here are some inspirational quotes from women who have fought and are still fighting for equality. Quotes to remind you that there is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with being a woman, or standing up for your rights. I pray you believe in yourself and can get some sort of inspiration from this article.

1. “The most effective way to do it is to do it, Amelia Earhart.” Amelia Earhart was the first woman to ever to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Most times, you spend hours and hours thinking about what step to take instead of just taking the step. Amelia Earhart is telling you to take that leap, apply for your dream job, ask for that raise you deserve. Don’t be afraid to take a chance, and don’t be selfish with your words, it’s okay to give Inspiration to others.

2. “Falling down is a part of life, but you’re only beaten if you fall down and don’t get back up, Jenette Stanley”.  Jenette Stanley penned this quote and it couldn’t be more true. Life is full of stumbling blocks. You’re always going to fall down, that is inevitable. The key to success is rising every single time you fall down.

3. “Yes, I’m a feminist, because I see all women as smart, gifted, and tough, Zaha Hadid.”  Zaha Hadid had her thoughts in the right place when she said this. Every single woman should be a feminist. All women must be seen as gifted, smart and tough because that is what they truly are. Once all women start supporting each other, the rest is history. Because you are great, you’re tough and you’re an amazing woman, the inspiration we need as women.

4. “I never dreamed about success. I worked for it, Estée Lauder.” If you want something, you must work for it. You must put in the extra time. It’s okay to dream but don’t just dream, make your dreams a reality.

5. “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any – Alice Walker” – You have so much power within you. Power to give life, the power to nurture. Women are so strong but they spend their lives thinking they’re powerless. This power is within you. Harness it and use it.

6. “Courage is like a muscle, we strengthen it by use, Ruth Gordo.” The fact is you’ll never move if you don’t take a step. Nothing will change if you don’t make your own changes. You have to exercise your courage, strengthen it. Start changing the things you cannot accept.

7. “I don’t care what you think about me. I don’t think about you at all, Coco Chanel.” This couldn’t have been said better. One of the major barriers for women in the society and what they’re going to say. The truth is, they’re always going to say things about you, they’re always going to have their own opinions. The key is in not letting it affect you. Their opinions and thoughts do not add to your life in any way. So it’s about time you stopped letting them get in your way.

8. There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish, Michelle Obama. If you set your heart and mind to something, there is nothing that can stop you from getting it. As a woman, you have so much power. Do not let anything distract or sidetrack you from your goals. You have no limits and the sky is your starting point.

9. “I am not free while any woman is in bondage, even when her shackles are very different from my own, Audre Lorde.” Feminism is about total and complete freedom. Until every single woman is free, no one is free. Remember this when you stand and demand for change, you’re not just fighting for yourself. You’re fighting for the future. You’re changing the future. You’re starting a revolution.

10. “If you don’t like being a doormat then get off the floor–Al Anon.”. Do not let anyone walk all over you simply because you are a woman. Women are strong. You have always been strong and now it’s time for you to show the world.

11. “Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, “She doesn’t have what it takes.” They will say, “Women don’t have what it takes, Clare Boothe Luce.” Women are judged as one unified body and that is why you must strive for excellence, for freedom. You are not just a woman. You are a nation. A nation of inspiration for other women.

12. Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult, Charlotte Whitton.” Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot do a particular thing, don’t let them stop you from reaching your goals. You are determined, fierce and strong.

13. Stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be, Elizabeth Gilbert”. It is time to stop wishing and start doing.

14. Never do things others can do and will do, if there are things others cannot do or will not do, Amelia Earhart.” Dream big dreams. Don’t be afraid to dream. In fact, dream, dream and dream some more and then blow everyone away.

15. One of the most courageous things you can do is identify yourself, know who you are, what you believe in and where you want to go – Sheila Murray Bethel.”  The first step to making a change is self-discovery. You must know who you are before you know what you want to become.

16. You get in life, what you have the courage to ask for, Oprah Winfrey.” Ask believing, that you will receive.

Encourage Yourself: It can be hard staying leveled in a world like this one. However, you’re strong, you’re brave and you’re not alone. On days where you feel down, remember to repeat this quote of Inspiration from Maya Angelou “I am a Woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal Woman, that’s me.”

Adolescence lasts only six years, but those six years can feel like a lifetime. You go into your teenage years a confused kid and come out a confused adult. There’s this preconception about the teenage years as the only time where you can get your life together. It seems like anyone who doesn’t know what they’re going to do with the rest of their life by the age of twenty is a failure. Let’s take a candid look at this. It is impossible to have figured your life out by twenty. At twenty you’re still growing. Life is made of constant changes and growth. I am here to help your teen with the  motivation they lack. Apply the following to assist you in every aspect of your life.

To decide what you want to do with your life at the tender age of twenty is to limit yourself. The fact is that you’re going to change. If you have a journal or diary, check the entries you wrote a year ago then sit down and think about it. You’re probably nothing like you were a year ago. Your dreams have probably changed, your thinking has changed, your expectations have changed. As you grow older, you begin to understand yourself more and more, you learn to judge yourself less and appreciate yourself more. So, if you’re a teenager lacks motivation and it feels like the world is crashing down around you, don’t give up. It will always get better. However, in order for it to get better it’ll probably get worse and during those dark times of high school graduations and the dreaded college acceptance or rejection letters, you need to know that it’ll be okay.

 Motivational Tips:

1.)  No one will ever love you the way you could love yourself – You will be surprised at how things would change if you just love yourself. You are the only person you’re going to be with all your life, the sooner you love yourself the better. It doesn’t matter what you think your flaws are, you are still beautiful. You’re always going to desire change. These feelings will always be there and the only to overcome them is to embrace them. The key to accepting yourself is accepting that you’re not perfect. No one is. Loving yourself isn’t just limited to your acceptance of your physical appearance. True acceptance is loving all the bumps and flaws on your body. It’s appreciating yourself. It is understanding that sometimes things don’t work out. It is knowing that at the end of the day you’ll be okay.

2.)  Focusing is about saying No – This is a quote by Steve Jobs and this will be the most useful skill you will ever learn. There is nothing more valuable than knowing how to say no. You need to understand that your time has worth. You are valuable and you can’t go around wasting yourself on people who aren’t worthy. There’s a trick that can be used to know who your true friends are. The next time a friend of yours asks you for something (not something life-threatening or important) say no. When you say no, watch their reaction. A true friend will understand and the others will probably try to make you feel guilty about it. This leads to our next quote.

3.)  It is better to love yourself and have no friends than to be like your friends and have no self – It’s ridiculously easy to flow with the crowd and blend in but at the end of the day, it’ll leave a large gap behind. The gap meant for your personality, what you’re made of. Having friends is great, it’s good to surround yourself with people but never at the risk of losing yourself. If a friend of yours is asking you to change yourself to suit their needs you should reconsider that relationship. You should never change yourself to suit anyone’s needs or desires. The only person you should make changes for is yourself.

4.)  External factors do not determine your value- Everyone loves validation. Kids, adults, pets, everyone. Validation makes you feel good. It’s nice to hear that someone appreciates you or you work. However, these opinions and thoughts do not determine your self-worth. It’s easy to get swept up in the throes of validation but it isn’t healthy to be the judge yourself by the opinions of others. If you only see yourself through the eyes of others, you’ll never find true happiness. True validation must come from within. Opinions are important, yes but they should never affect your self-worth.

5.)  Falling down is an accident, staying down is a choice – Sometimes when bad things happen, they become so overwhelming and overbearing that it becomes impossible to see a way out of it. These situations will happen but you must never let them keep you down. Fall down 99 times and get up 100 times.

6.)  If you want something special, you have to do something special – If you want better grades, you have to study harder. If you want to make the team, you have to train harder. If you want to get into the university of your dreams, you have to put in the work. You must be prepared to go the extra mile, to give it all you’ve got. Begin to work towards becoming the person you want to be, and apply the motivation tips that are listed here.

7.)  Flowers don’t compete with each other, they just bloom – Comparison is a red-eyed monster that lurks in the darkest depths of our thoughts. Sometimes it comes out and when it does it’s hard to submerge it. There are so many teenagers around the world doing big things, going on tours, getting into several ivy league universities. It is easy to look at these people and draw comparisons between yourselves. This behavior is toxic and it inhibits growth, don’t ever look at what the next person is doing and try to mimic them. You’re both different people going at different paces. You will bloom, just give it time.

Motivation For Your Teenagers: Six years can last a lifetime or last a minute. It’s okay if you enjoy your teenage years and it’s okay if you’re in a haste to be an adult. Just remember that even though life is tough, you’re tougher.

Encourage Yourself: Remember we must be there for each other when it comes to motivation, especially with our teenagers. Our world needs God right now but our youth need us more than ever.

Fiery Furnace

All the people were told to bow before the King, ifnot they would be burned to death in a fiery furnace

The Fiery Furnace, a story told by Daniel. Where King Nebuchadnezzar had a gold statue built, ninety feet high by nine feet wide, and he had it set up in the plain of Dura. The province of Babylon for all to bow down and worship. If any failed to obey, they would be thrown into the fiery furnace, no matter who they were. Then king Nebuchadnezzar gave orders for all his officials to come together; the princes, governor, commissioners, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the other officials of the provinces. They were to attend the dedication of the statue which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. When all these officials gathered for the dedication and stood in front of the statue, a herald announced in a loud voice, “People of all nations, races, and languages!

You will hear the sound of the trumpets, followed by the playing of oboes, lyres, zithers, and harps; and then all the other instruments will join in.
As soon as the music starts, you are to bow down and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has built. Anyone who does not bow down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing fiery furnace.” As soon as they heard the sound of the instruments, the people of all nations, races, and languages bowed down and worshiped the gold statue which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

It was then that some Babylonians took the opportunity to denounce the Jews. They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “May Your Majesty live forever! Your Majesty has issued an order. As soon as the music starts, everyone must bow down and worship the gold statue, and that anyone that does not bow down and worship the statue will be thrown into a blazing furnace. There are some Jews, who you have put in charge of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who are disobeying Your Majesty’s orders. They refuse to worship your god or bow down to the statue.”

king Nebuchadnezzar became furious and ordered the three men to be brought before him. He said to, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, I hear that you refuse to worship my god and bow down to the gold statue I have set up, Is it true? Now then, as soon as you hear the sound of the trumpets, oboes, lyres, zithers, harps, and all the other instruments, bow down and worship the statue. If you do not, you will immediately be thrown into a blazing fiery furnace. Do you think there is any God who can save you?”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered, “Your Majesty, we will not try to defend ourselves. If the God who we serve do not save us from the blazing furnace and from your power, then we know He can. But even if he doesn’t, Your Majesty be sure of this, that we will not worship your god, and we will not bow down to the gold statue that you have built.”

Then Nebuchadnezzar lost his temper, and his face turned red with anger at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. So he ordered the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than usual. And he commanded the strongest men in his army to tie the three men up and throw them into the blazing furnace. So they tied them up, fully dressed—shirts, robes, caps, and all—and threw them into the blazing furnace. Now because the king had given strict orders for the furnace to be made extremely hot, the flames burned up the guards who took the men to the furnace. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, still tied up, fell into the heart of the blazing fire.

Suddenly Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement. He asked his officials, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the blazing furnace?”
They answered, “Yes, we did, Your Majesty.” “Then why do I see a fourth man walking around in the fiery pits?” he asked. “They are not tied up, and they show no sign of being singed and the fourth one appears to be an angel.” So Nebuchadnezzar went up to the door of the blazing furnace and called, “Shadrach! Meshach! Abednego! Servants of the Most High God! Come out!” And they came out at once. All the princes, governors, lieutenant governors, and other officials of the king gathered to look at the three men, who had not been burned by the fire. Their hair was not burned, their clothes were not singed, and they lacked the smell of smoke on them.

The king said, “Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel and rescued these men who served and trusted him. They disobeyed my orders and put their lives at risk, rather than bow down and worship another god except the one and True Living God.

“And now I command that if anyone of any nation, race, or language speaks disrespectfully of the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, he is to be torn limb from limb, and his house will to be made into a pile of rubble. There is no other God who can rescue like this.” and the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to a higher position in the province of Babylon.

In today’s time we feel as though we are sometimes in a fiery furnace because of the circumstances with face from day to day. That is not for the one and only true God, we would parish. But the grace of God sees us through each and every trial we endure. Some because of our own foolishness. Even in the midst of everything God is still just and faithful to us. We should practice being more like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, They believed God could do anything, even if He didn’t do it. These situations are considered a trial of our faith. Leaving us to decide whether we are going to stand on God’s word, or crumble like the fickled, finite saints that we are.

Encourage Yourself: A firm stand on any issue requires true conviction. You have to believe that what you are standing firm on is the most righteous position you can think of. Without true conviction you will be detoured by a persuasive argument to give up your position. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood their ground for the sake of God, and because of that firm righteous position. God stepped in to help, and you can always count on God.
